We have recently updated our rankings for top NHL players by position. Based on performance over the past two seasons, we rank the top twenty centermen, right-wingers, left-wingers, defensemen and goaltenders.

While any time you rank players there are multiple pieces of data that can be used in rankings. We kept it simple looking at point performance over the past two seasons (as of Feb 5. 2023).

Top 20 NHL Centers – the number one ranked centre is Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers

Top 20 NHL Defensemen – number one ranked defensemen is Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche.

Top 20 NHL Left-Wingers – the number one left-winger is Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild

Top 20 NHL Right-Wingers – the number one right-winger is Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs

Top 20 NHL Goaltenders – the number one ranked goaltender is Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers
