Ten years ago the Hockey Fanatic polled hockey fans to see which NHL goalie was the best. Topping our list of top NHL goaltenders in 2012 was Los Angeles Kings netminder Johnathan Quick. Fast forward ten years and Quick is still stopping pucks for the Kings.
It was time that we updated our list of the top tendys in the NHL. Here is a look at the top NHL goaltenders in the game today.

Here are the top puck stoppers in the NHL today.
Here is an update to our Top 20 NHL goalie list for 2022/23. Based mainly on save percentage but factoring in wins, goals against average and other metrics as well.
#1. Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers – Shesterkin is second in wins over the past two season with 57 wins in his last 88 games played. He also rocks a .928 save percentage during this time best I the NHL for tenders who have played two or more games.
#2. Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning – through January 2023, Vasilevskiy has won more games than any other NHL goaltender in the league over the past two seasons with 62 wins. It’s easy to see why the Bolts are always considered a strong Cup contender.
#3. Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins – Ullmark is having a tremendous 2022/23 season for the Bruins having won 52 of the past 74 games that he has played over the past two seasons.
#4. Connor Hellebucyk – Winnipeg Jets – Hellebucyk is a big game goaltender. Over the past two seasons he sports a .915 save percentage and has helped the Jets to 53 wins good for fourth best amongst NHL goalies. He has also made more saves over the past two seasons than any other goalie having saved 3,126 save against the last 3,416 shots that he has faced. (2.77 GAA)
#5. Jusse Saros – Nashville Predators – with 57 wins over the past two seasons, Saros is ranked second amongst all other NHL tenders in this category. His .919 save percentage and 2.68 GAA aren’t that bad either.
