Ten years ago The Hockey Fanatic polled hockey fans to see who was the best left-winger in the NHL. In 2012, hockey fans listed Daniel Sedin as the league’s top left-winger. It was time to update our list. With all of the young, dynamic players in the game, we wanted to rank the best left-wingers in the game today.
Top 20 NHL Left Wingers 2022/23
Here is an update to our Top 20 NHL left wingers list for 2022/23. Based mainly on point production but factoring in points per game averages, time on ice and other metrics as well.
#1. Kirill Kaprizov – Minnesota Wild – Kaprizov, along with Jason Robertson of Dallas has scored more goals 74 by any left-winger over the past two NHL seasons
#2. Matt Tkachuk – Florida Panthers – Tkachuk is a +68 over his last 131 games played and leads all left-wingers in points with 170.
#3. Johnny Gaudreau Columbus Blue Jackets – a couple of food seasons in Calgary help Gaudreau stack up the points as he has a 1.23 Points-per-game average over the past two season good enough for third by NHL left-wingers.
#4. Kyle Connor – Winnipeg Jets – 152 points over his past 131 NHL games illustrates how great of a player that Connor has been for the Winnipeg Jets.
#5. Artemi Panarin – New York Rangers – The Breadman ranks fourth in NHL left-winger point production over the past two seasons.
