No one and I mean no one would have thought that the Vegas Golden Knights in their inaugural season would make it to the Stanley Cup finals.  They are the most successful expansion team in any professional sport. So how did they do it?  How did the Golden Knights make it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals in their first season?

Well here are a couple of reasons:

• $500 million will buy you some decent players in the NHL expansion draft
• strong goaltending from Marc-Andre Fleury (especially in the playoffs)
• a great management team
• solid coaching staff
• relentless forecheck and great team speed
