With news that Rogers has landed NHL hockey broadcasting rights in Canada for the next twelve years, we thought we would post a list of The Hockey Fanatics favorite Canadian TV NHL hockey personalities.  While we are not sure if this is a good deal for hockey fans, we expect there to be some turnover of hockey personalities after this season concludes.  Let us know who your favorite TV hockey personalities are and maybe we’ll include them in an updated list.

Top 20 Canadian TV NHL Hockey Personalities

1. Ron MacLean – witty host of Hockey Night in Canada on CBC.  A 9 time Gemini winner.  Need we say more?
2. James Duthie – host NHL on TSN.  Highly entertaining and nearly as witty as Ron MacLean.
3. Chris Cuthbert – NHL play by play on TSN.  One of the best in the business.  I can remember when Chris was starting out on CBC Edmonton.
4. Gord Miller – NHL play by play on TSN.  Some classic calls.  Another product out of Edmonton.
5. Darren Dreger – TSN hockey analyst.  Always seems to ask the right questions and gets down to business.
6. Bob McKenzie – TSN’s main hockey insider, a trusted hockey analyst who has the connections to break the latest trade or hockey development in the NHL.
7. Jim Hughson – NHL play by play on Hockey Night in Canada – CBC.
8. Bob Cole – NHL play by play on Hockey Night in Canada – CBC.  Hockey Hall of Famer.
9. Don Cherry – Coaches Corner has become a Canadian staple.  Grapes is as colorful and opinionated as they get and provides some great entertainment value.
10. Pierre LeBrun – hockey insider TSN.  Highly respected and always on point and entertaining.
11. Dave Hodge – host of “The Reporters” on TSN.  We liked him from his days on Hockey Night in Canada and he is getting better with age. Dave Hodge has been part of the Canadian sports landscape for more than four decades.
12. Scott Oake – co-host of Hockey Night in Canada’s After Hours on CBC Another Gemini award winner we love Scott Oake’s banter on HNIC’s After Hours.
13. John Shannon – panelist on Sportsnet Hockey Central.  Very NHL savvy and all around provider of solid hockey expertise.
14. Steve Koules – Host of TSN’s That’s Hockey 2NITE.  High energy of this guy who seems to be such a fan of the game just like we are.
15. Elliotte Friedman – host of Inside Hockey on Hockey Night in Canada.  CBC was perhaps grooming Friedman to replace Ron MacLean in a few years?
16. Darren Millard – Hockey Central Host – Rogers Sportsnet.
17. Nick Kypreos – Hockey Analyst Sportsnet.  I really like Nick’s commentary and no-nonsense approach to reporting and analysis.  Nick’s a true hockey guy.
18. Craig Simpson – commentator Hockey Night in Canada.  Well spoken and well team with Hughson on CBC broadcasts.
19. John MacLean – panelist on Sportnet’s Hockey Central team.  A great addition for Sportsnet as we like to see Mac go at it with Darren Millard and Kyper.  A very good hockey man.
20. Dennis Beyak – Winnipeg Jets play by play man for TSN.
