How old is the World Juniors?
The 2022 WJHC will be the 46th year of the tournament.
How many times has Canada hosted the tournament?
Including the 2022 WJHC, Canada will have hosted the World Juniors Championship fifteen times.
What are the groupings for the 2022 World Junior Championship?
As per normal there will be two pool groupings in the WJHC. Pool A will consist of:

How does the tournament format work?
The top four team in the round-robin will qualify for the Quarter finals while the last place teams in each pool will be sent to relegation.
How are teams seeded for the playoff round?
Winning teams will be reseeded for the semi-finals in accordance with the following ranking:
higher position in the group
higher number of points
better goal difference
higher number of goals scored for

When are the medal games?
Both the gold medal and bronze medal games will take place in Edmonton on January 5th, 2022.
Who is the defending World Junior Hockey champion?
In the 2021 tournament, Team USA defeated Team Canada 2-0 in the championship to win gold while Finland defeated Russia 4-1 to win bronze.
Who was the leading scorer in last year’s tournament?
Team USA forward Trevor Zegras was the tournament leading point producer with 18 points in seven games. Team Canada forward Dylan Cozens was second but was the leader goal scorer with 8 goals and 16 points in seven games. Germany’s Tim Stutzle was named best forward in the tournament while Topi Nielea from Finland was named best defenseman. Canada’s Devon Levi was named the tournament’s top goaltender.

Where will the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championship be played?
Currently next year’s tournament is scheduled for Russia.
As always the World Juniors should be a great tournament. It is some of the best hockey you are going to see. It’s one of our favorite tournaments of the year. Of course if we were looking to make a prediction, we would like to say that Canada is going to come out on top, but there is solid competition from as many as four or five other nations who could win it this year.
